A dramatic rescue in Phnom Penh has captured the attention of thousands after a large white Golden Retriever was recorded on home security cameras saving a 7-month-old baby girl from a fast-spreading kitchen fire. What began as an ordinary evening nearly turned tragic, but the family dogās instinct and bravery changed everything.
š„ The Fire Starts in the Kitchen
According to the homeowner, the fire broke out at around 4:50 PM after a faulty electrical wire near the cooking area ignited the stove and surrounding items. At that moment, both adults in the house were outside, leaving only the infant and the familyās Golden Retriever inside.
Within seconds, flames spread aggressively, filling the kitchen with thick black smoke.

The security camera footage showed every moment of the intense rescue:

Neighbors later said they were startled when they saw the dog run out with the baby, both covered in smoke but alive.

Medical staff confirmed the child suffered minor smoke inhalation, but no serious injuries.
The homeowner, overwhelmed with emotion, said:
āIf it wasnāt for him, I donāt know what would have happened. He reacted faster than any human.ā

Firefighters arrived within eight minutes, but the kitchen sustained heavy damage. The dog also inhaled some smoke but was treated and is now in stable condition.
