Her savings had run out.<\/p>\n
Her husband had left during the pregnancy.<\/p>\n

Every dollar.<\/p>\n
I shook my head.<\/p>\n

But she gently pressed the envelope into my hands.<\/p>\n

Just then, my husband stepped out of the hospital room behind me.<\/p>\n
He froze when he saw her.<\/p>\n
